Safety and style
Starbreaker consumer units are now supplied with an attractive curved metal visor providing a useful and practical temporary locking facility. Units now include, where configuration dictates, an RCCB default rating of 80A 30mA, plus some additional standard consumer unit list numbers that include 100A 30mA RCCBs. In all cases RCCBs are Type A mirroring the specification of Starbreaker miniature RCBOs and AFDD/RCBOs to ensure that the highest levels of earth fault protection are consistently applied across the range.

Safer installation
Main incoming isolators now include twin supply terminals providing greater support and stronger more robust connections for meter tails. Starbreaker plug in MCBs, RCBOs & AFDDs make instant guaranteed connections, which equates to 25% fewer screw terminations, significantly reducing the risk of loose connections. Circuits may be added or upgraded without the need to disturb adjacent devices as busbar removal is not necessary. Only Starbreaker final circuit protective devices can be fitted ensuring correct integration of components throughout the lifespan of the consumer unit.

Personal protection
The insulated busbar assembly provides greater personal protection due to its permanent, factory fitted, non removeable busbar shield which cannot be lost or left out. DIN control devices can be placed in any position along the full width DIN rail without affecting any other device or busbar connection. All Consumer Units include clearly marked high capacity neutral and earth terminals.

Ease of installation
All Type A RCCBs are two modules wide which means split load, dual RCD and high integrity options all offer an additional final circuit position when compared to their predecessors. Cabling capacity remains as some of the most generous available and is optimised further as all final circuit protective devices have the same single module miniature profile. There are plenty of cable entry knockouts on all sides & large square knockouts on the rear and the availability of a main tails cable entry gland allows for supplementary insulation similar to class II level of protection to tails.
